Science

In science, we have introduced the topic of energy and how it's used in our lives.  Our focus has been on the sun's energy and how important the sun is to providing energy to all living things.  We will be conducting safe experiments to demonstrate the different types of energy in our world including electricity, wind, solar energy, gas, and batteries.  Later, we will discuss ways to conserve energy and to make the students aware that energy is important and we all have to do our part to save energy.  Please find opportunities at home to demonstrate to your child how we can all save a little bit of energy.  A good way to do this would be to have your child make a list of all the things they can see that are using energy and discuss what is needs to be used and what can be turned off.  Bringing the amount of energy being used at home will be a great learning opportunity for you and your child and it may even save you some money at the same time.

Have fun and remember to turn off the lights.
Thank you
