For the next few weeks, we will be focusing on data management in grade 1 math. This includes sorting objects based on sorting rules and attributes and graphing the data using a variety of different graphs. We encourage you to provide opportunities for your child to sort different objects. Some objects can include: laundry, kitchen cutlery, groceries, and books. You can have your child explain how they would put the number of objects onto a bar graph and analyze the information collected.
Your help with your child to sort and graph data will benefit him/her largely in our grade 1 math class and we appreciate you for your efforts!
