Writing

Our literacy block consists of your child reading and writing.  We have introduced letter writing to your child and we are teaching your child how to write friendly letters.  We will start by using the home journal program to get your child started.  The home journals will be sent home every Friday and students will have an opportunity in class to write a letter to you.  This will give you an opportunity to hear about what your child learns each week, as well as a chance to see your child's writing improve over the course of the year!  We ask that you read the letter with your child and respond to their letter.  Also, it would be beneficial to your child if you offer some feedback to your child about his/her writing to help improve their writing each week.  We thank you for your assistance in this and we hope that you enjoy the experience of writing and receiving letters from your child!
